The Berdiri Sedjak program was initiated in 2021 as a way to observe the city through walking activities with the help of interactive maps. Through walking tours, actors become observers and subjects involved in the daily phenomena of the city. It provides an opportunity to dig deeper into things that might be missed when studies are conducted behind a desk.

 

As the name suggests, the walking activities of Berdiri Sedjak prioritize local historical contexts. They involve interacting with local groups, collecting hidden history in an area, and observing its relationship to the city today. So, the routes we put together try to frame the historical (or at least unique) story of a specific neighbourhood or part of the city

 

Since 2024, Sedjak has established its mission as a city tour service. Whether for the purpose of finding a travel companion, designing study materials, or seeking supernatural powers.
