MASKUMAMBANG is an experimental documentary about the resilience of urban communities facing floods through innovation, mitigation, and mysticism.

 

This film highlights the unique ways that residents of Kampung Poncol in South Jakarta use to predict, respond to, and recover from the floods that frequently hit their community.

 

MASKUMAMBANG is the result of a 4-year collaboration between local residents and the Rame-Rame Jakarta research team to explore the realities of living with flooding, and identify strategies that can be implemented to adapt to climate uncertainty and inadequate infrastructure.
